A workshop meeting of the Town Commission was called to order by Mayor Horton
on June 1, 1973, at 1:40 p.m.
Present were Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Dent, Commissioners Gilday and Joy, the
Town Administrator, the Zoning Administrator, representatives from Radice, members
of the Community Appearance Board, and several town residents.
Vice Mayor Dent explained he had met with the Radice representatives toward a
settlement agreement. They have agreed to reduce the number of apartments from
an original figure of 177 to 152 - 76 each side of AlA. Preliminary plans were
explained to the Town Commission after which prolonged discussion took place.
A future meeting will be arranged after plans are finalized.
There was discussion of proposed amendments to the Sign Ordinance submitted by ._._._--~-~-
the Community Appearance Board. Mayor Horton suggested these be studied, __ _
Mayor Horton read a letter received from Mr, August Urbanek regarding fill on
lots 76, 77, and 79 and lots 95, 96, 97. This matter will be studied further.
Mrs. Roberts informed Mr. Urbanek that he would have to apply to the T.I.I.F.
for state approval.
Mayor Horton read a letter addressed to the Board of County Commissioners
urging that prompt and favorable action be taken in opening up the C G C project
into the Intracoastal Waterway.
Commissioner Joy reported that A and S Utility, who operate the Town Water Plant,
• have sold their business and suggested t,}het.we terminate their contract and draw
up a new one for Mr. Jesse Arney, Our Town Attorney will be consulted for assist-
ance, Mr, Joy reported the automatic equipment has been installed and is oper-
ating in the repump station,
The Mayor read a letter of recommendation in regard to the telemeter emergency line
between the Water Plant and the repump station, received from Russell and Axon.
Final action will be taken at the regular meeting.
Discussion followed regarding the sewer system completion and the proposed interim
treatment plant.
Vice Mayor Dent informed the Commission that the signs at Boca Hi are being re-
viewed and some changes will be recommended in the near future.
The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
