called to order at 10:00 a.m., by the Mayor.
Present: Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Dent, and Commissioners, Gilday,
Joy and Mumford.
The Town Commission met to discuss, informa~ly,with Mr. August
Urbanek the status of the Easement deeds for Lift Stations, the
Interim Treatment Plant plans, the proposed schedule for completion
of the total sewage system, Sewer laterals, the extent to which
contracts had been signed for the Highland Beach Utility Sewer System
and the cost of connection fees to the Interim Treatment Plant.
Mr. Urbanek advised that the Easement deed for Lift Station No. 1
has not been received; however, it was his understanding that Mr. &
Mrs. Shubert have no objections and this should be resolved shortly.
With respect to the Steinhardt property, Raphael Steinhardt was to
review the documents as to certain legal point, et al, and also
required Russell & Axon to send certain material, Russell & Axon had
complied with the request and furnished certain specifications and
he, Mr. Urbanek, was pursuing the matter to secure the easement which
is required for the system.
i For site No. 2, the Easement dated May 22, 1970, has not been filed
with the Recorder`s Office, this being done and be,a matter of record.
Mr. Urbanek further advised that if he needs assistance he will call
on the Town Commission and implied that he is not worrying about
completing the system as stipulated in the Settlement Agreement; i.e.,
March 21, 1974, stating the date (6 mos.) was reasonable then but
not now.
Plans for the Main Plant - Interim Sewage Plant have not been .received.
In fact since the surveys were made three weeks ago, the Utility Company
has been pressing the Engineers to no avail.
With respect to Laterals and other matters, a lengthy discussion took
place. NIr, Urbanek statEd that it was his position that .the responsi-
bility for laterals was not that of the Utility ~ompany;and,he:will
furnish evidence to support .his position. Matter to be pursued.
Mr. Urbanek again requested permission to re-locate units to the North
part of the Town and reduce the height of the Senator Building-. He
will write a letter even though he was informed by the Commission that
such a plan was objectionable and the Land Planner, Mr. Leary, has
advised the Commission accordingly.
