• A workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Horton at 7:30 P. M. on
Tuesday, August 31, 1971 in Town Hall. Also in,._attendance were Comm.
Hackman, Joy and several interested persons.
Plans submitted for the Stanley Maas residence in Bel Lido, requested a
variance on the side set backs from the 12' required to 10'. Included
were letters of approval from the two property abutters, approval from
a representative of the Bel Lido Association and a letter of request from
De Marco, general contractor. It is noted that the Town requires residen-
tial side setbacks of 10'. Comm. Hackman moved approval be granted. Comm.
Joy seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Mayor Horton read a letter received from the Highland Beach Utilities Co.
stating that the company will have to increase the tap in fees due to the
building moratorium now in effect. The letter further suggests that the
Commission extend the date of completion for the period of the building
moratorium. Mayor Horton expressed. his feeling that perhaps the building
moratorium period. be added to the end of the franchise agreement. Dis-
cussion followed and it was agreed that differences of opinion between the
company and the Town Commission should. be negotiated. Mayor Horton said
he will write to Mr. Urbane in answer to the letter stating that he will
be available for discussion of the points mentioned in the letter.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55 P. M.
