Mayor Gilday called the Special Meeting to order at 11:00 A.M.
MINUTES: SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TO~hN COMMISSION - AUGUST 7, 1974
Present were: Mayor Gilday, Vice Mayor Joy,
and Commissioners Bauer and Clark
s
This meeting was held at the request of the Ambassadors Corporation
and Mr. Urbanek was in attendance with his Attorney, Mr. Gundlach.
The purpose of the meeting, as shown in the enclosed notice, was to
discuss variances and possible violations for the Ambassador
buildings. (See attachment "A")
Mayor Gilday read contents of attachment "B" - letter dated August
1, 1974 from the Law Offices of William Gundlach. The request for
"variance" was filed on behalf of the developers by Attorney
Gundlach who stated that all of the errors were unintentional and
unknown to the developer, he listed the mistakes that had been
made and requested that the Town Commission grant them a variance.
Mx. Urbanek also spoke and advised of a stem-line survey given to
him on Monday, August 6, 1974.
Commissioner Clark said that it would be futile to discuss this
matter in detail if they intended to request arbitration pursuant
to the Court Settlement provisions. At this point, Attorney
Gundlach requested a recess of ten minutes to discuss this course
of action with Mr. Urbanek. Upon reconvening, Attorney Gundlach
informed the Commission that they would not consider requesting
arbitration of the matter. (Mayor Gilday requested confirmation in
wring. )
No decisions were made and it was the consensus of the Commission
to defer any action. After further discussion, Mayor Gilday said,'
"the purpose for which this meeting was called has been completed
as far as we can go at this time", and at approxi tely 12. 5 P.M.
he recessed the meeting to 10:30 A.M., Friday, ~ ust 16,/-974.
