1974.08.27_TC_Minutes_WorkshopMINUTES: WORKSHOP MEETING OF~XHE 'OWN COMMISSION - AUGUST 27. 1~7d ' At 9:30 A.M. Mayor Gilday called the workshop meeting to order. The Agenda thereof is. Attachment "A". Present were: Mayor Gilday, Vice Mayor Joy and Commissioners Clark and Bauer Absent: Commissioner Mumford Mr. Matt Gracey of Gracey Bros. addressed the Commission with respect to insurance coverage for the Town's building and contents (See Attachment "B", letter dated August 5, with schedule attached.) The Finance Director informed the Commission that he would review the proposed valuations and it was the consensus that such information would reduce the annual premium increase of $1125. for the additional coverage. Matter to be pursued. Ordinances which have had a first reading and are scheduled for a final reading at the Monthly Town Meeting of September 3, were then read and discussed. Changes were noted for the proposed ordinances which will, if adopted, amend Chapters 8, 17 and 30. With respect to Chapter 17, (Municipal Court) Mayor Gilday requested that Section 17-4, as written, be checked for the approval of Judge Wessel and that the language . employed be approved by him. Commissioner Clark inquired as to provisions with respect to R.P.U.D. as to the life of such a designation and also if such designation is made if it enures to benefit of successive owners and as to whether or not that construction be commenced within a stated period of time. Discussion of this subject took place and Vice Mayor Joy summarized the present requirements thereof as stated in Chapter 30, Zoning. Mayor Gilday suggested that, in the near future, it may be desirable to have some change in the R.P.U.D. sections. A lengthy discussion then took place as to the proposed millage increase, and amounts received from the Palm Beach County Tax Assessor's office of revised figures of Assessed Valuations for the Ad Valorem tax determination. (See data set forth in Attachment "C") Mayor Gilday advised that he plans to be away on vacation from September 4 thru September 23. In discussing the date for appointment of the Town Manager, it was the consensus of the Commission that this action await his return. (The field of applicants being considered has been diminished to two}. Page 2 MINUTES: WORKSHOP MEETING OF THE TOWN COMMISSION - AUGUST 27, 1974 .7 The Commissioners were advised of the status of the Van Lennep suit and proposed execution of the Letter Agreement (subject to revision) that will provide for the reimbursement of services of Attorney Becker and/or other principals of the firm.
