• TOWN COMMISSION WORKSHOP
Tuesday, July 29, 1975
9:30 A.M.
Vice Mayor Leslie Joy called the Regular Workshop meeting to order at 9:36 A.
Present were:
Leslie W. Joy, Vice Mayor
Commissioner Harry Bauer
Commissioner Robert D. Clark
Commissioner Ruth Mumford Absent
Mayor Morton E. Gilday Absent
Also present:
Town Manager, Elaine W. Roberts
• Town Attorney, Thomas Sliney
Finance Director, Anton Drasal
Town Clerk, Kathryn M. Borgemenke
Vice Mayor Joy announced that this was the regular workshop meeting
for July. He noted that there were 11 or more items on the agenda
and that a Special Meeting is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. this morning.
Ordinance - Amending Chapter 23 of the Code of Ordinances - Entitled
"Signs and Advertising".
It was noted that this Ordinance had had its first reading on July 1,
1975. A great deal of discussion followed and it was agreed that
some changes were necessary to improve this ordinance before final
reading and adoption.... This Ordinance will be retyped with the
necessary changes and will be presented to the Commission before
the next regular Meeting.
This Workshop was recessed at 10:39 A.M. to enable the Commission
the have the Special Meetings, as advertised.

PLANNING COMMISSION - Reappointment of Mr. N. Johnson
It was noted that Mayor Gilday always asked for the wishes of
the Commission; and that perhaps the Commission could add additional
names to this appointment. It was noted that this would also
hold true for the Item #3. The Town Attorney recommended that the
Panning Commission appointment should be filled as soon as possible.
This item will be taken up at the next Regular Meeting. It was
suggested that:=the Mayor be~told that the Commission was in
agreement with reappointing Mr. Johnson and request his wishes.
ROBERT M. LEAKY - STATEMENT
The Town Attorney will check on this before final action is to
be taken.
• AIRCONDITIONING - Proposal A & A Service, Inc.
It was noteel that three firms were requested to bid; however,
only one firm replied. Encore stated that they only serviced
condominimums. Commissioner Bauer asked if Air Conditioning
Associates in Boca-Raton were contacted. It was noted that they
had not been.
WATER PLANT - Repairs to Roof
Mrs. Roberts reported on the proposal from Modern Roofing.
To repair one leak would cost $220.00. The Commission agreed
and this item will appear on the agenda for the Regular
Meeting in August.
DECELERATION LANE
Three proposals were recieved. Carr Soil & Sod Driveways
were low bidders. This item will appear on the agenda at
the Regular Meeting in August.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION
Discussion followed relative to a Resolution requesting the F.P.S.
Commission to reconsider electric power rate increases. It was
the unanimous consensus of the Commission that a Resolution at this
time would not be worthwhile.
BUDGET 1975-76 (Proposed)
The Commission had received an additional page to the budget for
their information. It was noted that the budget should be approved
before October 1, 1975. In previous years the Town had received
a copy of the appeals that were presented for relief in property
reappraisal and the Town Clerk was instructed to secure this list
again this year. The next Budget discussion would be held on
August 26, 1975 in conjunction with the Regular Workshop.
• SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE
Mrs. Roberts read from an article printed in the Boca Raton News.
Mrs. Roberts then read from the Southern Standard Building Code
relative to fees collected at the time of application for building
permit. She asked for the wishes of the Commission. It was
decided that the Town Attorney would research this matter before
any final decision.
ORDINANCE, Proposed Cable T.V.
Mrs. Roberts noted that this is a new Ordinance. She suggested
that Mr. Ray Blosser review this before First Reading. This
item will appear on the Agenda of the Regular Meeting in August.
CORRESPONDENCE - DISCUSSION - Town Manager
Mrs. Roberts reported on the following additional items: Police
Officer's Training, there was discussion relative to this matter
and Mrs. Roberts asked that the Town Attorney to check into
this.

The Commission received a copy of an application for a dock permit.
Mrs. Roberts asked if it were agreeable with the Commission that
she sign the necessary papers of approval. There were no objections.
Discussion followed regarding Hurricane Proceedures pamphlets.
Mrs. Roberts explained letters from Mr. Slattery and Cody and
Associates. She also read from the Data-Gram.
The Workshop ADJOURNED at 12:05P.M.
