TOWN COMMISSION BUDGET WORKSHOP
Wednesday, September 24, 1975
Mayor Morton E. Gilday called the Budget Workshop meeting to order
at 9:35 A.M.
He announced that this meeting had been called for the purpose of
further consideration of the proposed budget for 1975-76.

• Mayor Gilday referred to a letter from an attorney on behalf of Mr.
Burgess. The attorney asked for permission to appear before the
Town Commission. The Mayor then referred to a letter from Mr.
Goldberger of Regency Highlands. Mayor Gilday read the letter aloud
for the benefit of all and took this time to read a report from
Chief of Police Jones regarding crime in Bel Lido during the
years 1974 and 1975.
Mrs. Roberts stated that she will answer the letter from the attorney
for Mr. Burgess.
Mrs. Roberts asked the Town Commission if they would
approve the Department Heads being in .charge of their
budgets. A discussion on this matter followed.
GENERAL INCOME
1~lrs. Roberts noted a change - a $5,000.00 cut in the
Road and Bridge monies. There are no anticipated cuts

Discussion followed relative to pay for performance
raises for some employees of the Town.
Mrs. Mumford spoke on the subject of the weekly reports
from the Town Manager. It was the unanimous consensus
of the Commission that the present form of the weekly
report be discontinued. At this time it was noted that
the clipboard had too many items that were not relative
to the Commission placed on it. It was decided that
the items on the clipboard be held down to pertinent
Commission matters. Mrs. Roberts suggested that she
give a brief weekly, one page, report.
Vice Mayor Joy noted that funds should be budgeted toward
the maintenance of the fill to be placed around the Town
Hall. Mrs. Mumford suggested a Garden Club to donate
their time for the improvement of the Town. It was
suggested that this item be placed in the next issue of
• the bulletin. Mrs. Roberts asked if there were money
left in the budget this year would the Commission care
to have it expended on items such as fills and maintenance.
After additional discussion by the Commission it was
decided that the budget be refigured with the present
salaries plus the 6 month 5/ cost of living increase.
Mayor Gilday read a letter from Sgt. Ryan for the benefit
of the Commission.
Being no further business to come before the Commission
the meeting adjourned at 11:50 A.M.
