1975.12.23_TC_Minutes_Special • TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission Special Meeting December 23, 1975 9:30 A.M. Meeting called to order by Mayor Morton E. Gilday at 9:30 A:~M. The Mayor announced that this meeting had been called by him for consideration of several items. Present were: Mayor Morton E. Gilday Vice Mayor Leslie W. Joy Commissioner Ruth E. Mumford Commissioner Robert D. Clark Absent Commissioner William S. Hults Also present: Town Manager, Elaine W. Roberts M. Maree Birkbeck, Finance Department Police Chief, Kenneth Jones Town Clerk, Kathryn M. Borgemenke Periodic Pay Estimate - Webb General Contracting Mrs. Roberts read a letter from Russell and Axon dated December 19, 1975. The Consulting Engineers certified -- - as an interim partial payment the amount of $13,500 only. Mrs. Roberts recommended to the Commission that they approve this partial payment of Periodic Pay Estimate #14. Mayor Gilday called for a motion to approve this pay estimate for the sum of $13,500. MOTION by Commissioner Mumford/Vice Mayor Joy: "I will so move". ROLL CALL on the Motion Carried 4 - 0. • Minutes Highland Beach Town Commission Special Meeting December 23, 1975 Page 2 of 3 Consider Bids for Timers to Town Hall S rinkler System Mrs. Roberts stated that Evergreen Sprinkler Corp. was low bidder in the amount of $435.00 and she recommended that this company's bid be accepted. Mayor Gilday called for a motion to accept Evergreen's bid of $435.00 to install the automatic timers for the sprinkler system at Town Hall site. • MOTION by Commissioner Clark/Vice Mayor Joy: "I'll make that motion". ROLL CALL on the Motion Carried 4 - 0. The Mayor announced that under Item 3, any and all business that may come before the Commission in the proper manner, he will introduce a Recommendation from the Chief of Police relative to a merit raise for Ptl. Ernest Giordano. The Mayor then read from a memorandum dated December 10, 1975 from Chief Jones recommending Ptl. Giordano for a 5/ merit raise effective retroactive to November 27, 1975. Mayor Gilday called for a motion to accept the Chief's recommendation and approve this 5% merit increase for Ptl. Giordano. MOTION by Vice Mayor Joy/Commissioner Mumford: "If that is the recommendation of the Chief, I approve". ROLL CALL on the Motion Carried 4 - 0. Mayor Gilday referred to a second letter from the members of the Police Department requesting approval of additional benefits. The Mayor stated that this item would appear on the Workshop Agenda and perhaps a special meeting can be called at that time to act upon this item. Mayor Gilday announced to the Commission that a Workshop and Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 1976 at 9:30 A.M. The item on this agenda will be discussion of the proposed comprehensive land use plan submitted by the Planning Commission, after their approval. • I Minutes Highland Beach down Commission . MOTION by Commissioner Clark/Vice Mayor Joy: "Move we pay the bllls". ROLL CALL on the Motion Carried 4 - 0.
