Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission
Special Meeting
March 26, 1976 9:30 A.M.
The Special Meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 9:30 A.M.

Anton Drasal, Finance Director
Thomas E. Sliney, Town Attorney
Elaine W. Roberts, Town Manager
Kathryn M. Borgemenke, Town Clerk
The Mayor announced that this meeting was called for the purpose
of considering and taking action on a number of matters.
76.8 GUTHRIE, JACOBS AND EUBANKS - AUDITORS
Mayor Gilday called upon Tom Sliney, Town Attorney, for
his viewpoint on the matter. Mr. Sliney referred to
various letters that had been transmitted between the
auditors and the Town.
Mr. Richard Eubanks stated his case for the benefit
of the Commission. Various questions were asked by
the Mayor and Commissioners and Mr. Eubanks replied
to each.
Mr. Guthrie, a partner of the Firm, asked to be heard
and he also spoke on behalf of the audit.
After a great deal of discussion relative to this
subject it was decided that this matter should be
placed on the Workshop agenda, March 30, 1976.

76.32 PROCLAMATION - LAW DAY
The Proclamation was read in its entirety by the Town
Clerk at the request of the Mayor.
The Mayor called for a motion to approve the issuance
by him of this Proclamation.
76.33 RESOLUTION - COMMENDATION - POLICE OFFICER

MOTION by Commissioner Hults/Commissioner Mumford: "So move".
ROLL CALL on the Motion Carried 4 - 0.

Mayor Gilday requested the Town Clerk to read a
communication from the Chief of Police requesting, in
turn, a resolution of commendation for Officer Tremitiedi.
The Resolution was read in its entirety by the Town Clerk.

MOTION by Commissioner Clark/Commissioner Mumford:
adoption of the Resolution as read".

Commissioner Clark noted that the person who made the
initial call dispatching Officer Tremitiedi to the
scene should receive a letter of thanks.
76.34 INDEMNITY INSURANCE
The Mayor stated that a great deal of work and effort
had been put forth to acquire insurance for the Town
Officials, and it has been a very slow process.
Two proposals were received by the Town: one from a
representative of Lloyds of London and the second
from Midland Insurance Company.
Discussion followed relative to the amount of the
deductible clause.
• Mayor Gilday called for a motion to accept the proposal
of Midland Insurance Company for this liability coverage
for a term of one year at the premium of $1,788.00
through the agency of John E. Hunt, Tallahassee.

At this time Mayor Gilday called for a 5 minute recess.
BILLS FOR APPROVAL
The Commission reviewed the bills that were presented
for approval.
A brief discussion followed whether or not the Town
should continue membership in the National League of
Cities. By unanimous consent it was decided to drop
this membership .

Mayor Gilday called for a motion to accept and approve
the bills with the exception of those two that had
been discussed.
MOTION by Commissioner Mumford/Commissioner Clark: "I so move".
ROLL CALL on the Motion Carried 4 - 0.
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING at 11:05 A.M.
