Mayor Gilday called the meeting to order at 8:30 P.M.

Commissioner Ruth E. Mumford
Commissioner Leslie W. Joy
Commissioner Robert D. Clark
Elaine W. Roberts, Town Manager
Thomas E. Sliney, Town Attorney
M. Maree Birkbeck, Acting Finance Director
Kathryn M. Borgemenke, Town Clerk
Approximately 100 people in the audience.
Mayor Gilday announced that the Town Commission would now sit as
the Canvassing Board, as provided for by law to receive the vote
of the Municipal Election held this date and also to count the
absentee ballots.
Mayor Gilday appointed Vice Mayor Hults to act as Chairman in his
stead due to the fact that the Mayor is a candidate for office in
this election.
Mr. Harold C. Storm, Clerk of the Election Board, announced the
following:
There were 826 votes cast and counted by the computer.
For Mayor:
Morton E. Gilday received 548 votes
John P. O'Grady received 252 votes

For Commissioner:
Robert D. Clark received 630 votes
Michael H. W. Dent received 285 votes
Leslie W. Joy received 553 votes

The Commission then counted the absentee ballots with Vice Mayor
Hults announcing each aloud. Mr. Harold C. Storm, Clerk of the
Election Board, verified the Vice Mayor's count. The following
was the total of the absentee ballots.
For Mayor:
Morton E. Gilday received
John P. O'Grady received
For Commissioner:
Robert D. Clark received
Michael H. W. Dent received
Leslie W. Joy received

The total of the balloted votes and absentee voters was:
For Mayor:
Morton E. Gilday 596 votes
John P. O'Grady 292 votes
For Commissioner:
Robert D. Clark 693 votes
Michael H. W. Dent 336 votes
Leslie W. Joy 604 votes
At this time Mr. O'Grady stepped forward and congratulated the
incumbents.

Mayor Gilday thanked the Election Board for the fine work they
performed during the Election.
Mayor Gilday announced that this would end the Canvassing Board.
The time was approximately 9:15 P.M.
