Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission
Special Meeting
January 22, 1980 1:30 P.M.
The Special Meeting of the Town Commission was called to order by the
Mayor at 1:30 P.M. on January 22, 1980. Those in attendance were:
Mayor Louis Y. Horton, Vice Mayor Harold C. Storm and Commissioners
Harry Bauer, Mary Louise Blosser and Peter J. Genovese. Also in
attendance were: Elaine W. Roberts, Town Manager; Kenneth Jones, Chief
of Police; and Jane E. Barker, Town Clerk.
Mayor Horton announced that this meeting was called for the purpose of
decisions in regard to advertising the sale of the "Clamur III".
1. To Direct the Police Chief to Advertise for Sale of
the ;Boat - "Clamur III".
Mrs. Roberts read a letter from Mr. Mitchell Kirschner of the
• firm of Tylander, deClaire and Sliney containing the latest
instructions pertaining to the sale of this boat. (Attachment)
Mayor Horton then requested Chief Jones to give an authori-
zation to sell this boat and Chief Jones state the following:
"I hereby authorize the Town Commission to sell the boat -
Clamur III - on February 12, 1980."
MOTION by Commissioner Bauer and seconded by Commissioner Genovese
that the Town proceed with the advertising and sale of the boat -
"Clamur III". All Commissioners voted Aye in favor of this MOTION.
Commissioner Bauer then gave a brief report concerning the
advertising for this sale and the modest fees being charged.
He stated that the ad is being run in the Sun Sentinel, the
Boca Raton News and the Delray Beach News Journal - with each
paper running the ad once a week for two weeks.
Discussion followed regarding the money that the Town has spent
so far - storage fees; attorney fees; clean-up fees; advertising,
etc. Liability insurance for people inspecting the boat on
February 2, 1980 and having a uniformed guard present was also
• discussed. The liability insurance matter will be looked into
by Mrs. Roberts.

2. Bills for Approval
The quarterly payment to the C.D.C. was presented by Mrs.
Roberts in the amount of $1,841.25 for Commission approval.
MOTION by Commissioner Bauer/Commissioner Genovese that the bill be
approved for payment. All Commissioners voted Aye in favor of paying
this bill.
Mrs. Roberts then mentioned that the sound system in the Com-
mission Chambers had been repaired and improved.
Mayor Horton informed the Commission that Mrs. Roberts and he
had met with the architect on Monday, January 21, 1980 to go
over the preliminary plans on the new Municipal Complex.

Commissioner Storm inquired regarding the work at the fire
station and was informed that the dry wall was being put on
today and that the doors and windows have not arrived as yet.
Being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting
ADJOURNED at 1:55 P.M. l;
