1980.06.17_TC_Minutes_Regular~ `w TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA • Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission Public Hearing Zoning June 17, 1980 5:30 P.M. Mayor Horton called the Public Hearing to order at 5:30 P.M. Those in attendance were: Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Storm and Commissioners Bauer, Blosser and Genovese. Also in attendance were: Elaine W. Roberts, Town Manager; 'T'homas E. Sliney, Town Attorney; and Jane E. Barker, Town Clerk. Mayor Horton read for the record the advertisement for this Public Hearing which was published in the Sun Sentinel on June 10, 1980 and will again be published on June 24, 1980 for the second Public Hearing to be held on July 1, 1980 at 5:00 P.M. (Attachment) Mayor Horton also read for the record a letter dated April 23, 1980 from Joseph A. Boscove, Chairman of the Planning Commission/Local • Planning Agency - Subject: Chapter 30, Section 5.3(e) Zoning Code: "Noncommercial Docks, Piers, Launching Facilities and Mooring Devices". (The letter read "Section 5.3(d)" but this was corrected by Mrs. Roberts to "Section 5.3(e)".) The Mayor called for comments from the public and Mr. M. H. W. Dent and Mr. Earl Totz, residents of Bel Lido, each addressed the Commission. Mayor Horton read a letter from Mrs. Catherine P. Lot 32, Block 4, Bel Lido Subdivision, one of the could not accommodate a dock because of the prese! Section 5.3(e) of Zoning Code. She had requested be read into the record inasmuch as she could not Hearing. Anthony, owner of lots involved that nt requirments in that this letter attend the Public Commissioner Bauer talked about this situation and presented a drawing of the lots involved and several alternate suggestions for the Com- mission's review, after which much discussion ensued. Commissioner Genovese expressed the opinion that this was an internal matter and should be decided by the residents of Bel Lido. Mayor Horton mentioned a letter written by the Bel Lido Association sometime ago objecting • Minutes Highland Beach • Town Commission Public Hearing - Zoning June 17, 1980 Page 2 of 2 to any changes in the setback requirements and informed Mr. Totz that if the Association desired to change their thoughts, an official letter should be written to the Town Commission. Mayor Horton stated that the Commission should thoroughly study this matter and be ready to discuss it in detail at the next Public Hearing to be held at 5:00 P.M. on July 1, 1980. MOTION by Commissioner Bauer and seconded by Commissioner Blosser that the Public Hearing be ADJOURNED. Vote was unanimous. Time - 5:50 P.M.
