Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission
MORATORIUM VARIANCE APPEALS BOARD

Tues., October 11, 1983 4:00 P.M.__
A meeting of the Moratorium Variance Appeals Boa rd was called to
order by Mayor Louis Y. Horton at 4:05 P.M. Also in attendance
were Vice Mayor Mary Louise G. Blosser, Commissioners William E.
Paul and Betty Jean Stewart. Commissioner Harry Walker was absent.
Also present were: Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney; Town Manager
Elaine W. Roberts; Town Clerk Mary Ann Whaley; citizens and the
general public.
Attorney Earl Faircloth, representing Highlands Place addressed
the Town Commission giving a synopsis of the actions transpired to
date on that issue. Mr. Faircloth's contentions will be submitted
in writing to Attorney Sliney and an opinion from the Town's
Attorney will be given to the Commission for consideration.
Mr. Marvin Arbuck also addressed the Town Commission reiterating
his request for the re-issuance of a permit on the project as he was
in a position to financially suffer a substantial amount of money.
The Town Commission agreed it would await the recommendation of
the Town Attorney prior to taking any action based upon this hearing.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
