TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA
Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission
SPECIAL MEETING
Tuesday, September 27, 1983 5.25 P M
A Special Meeting of the Town Commission was called to order
by Mayor Horton at 5:25 p.m. Also in attendance were Commissioners
William E. Paul, Betty Jean Stewart and Harry Walker. Vice
Mayor Mary Louise G. Blosser was absent.
Also in attendance were Financial Advisory Board member Robert
Slater; Town Manager Elaine W. Roberts; Town Attorney Thomas E.
Sliney; Finance Director M. Mare Birkbeck; Town Clerk Mary Ann
Whaley; citizens and the general public.
This Special Meeting was called for the purpose of passage of
three budget ordinances and bills for approval.
Mayor Horton excused himself as he was not feeling well and
requested Commissioner Walker to chair the meeting.
• Item $kl AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 449 WHICH APRROPRIATED FUNDS
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1982/83 WHICH BEGAN OCTOBER 1,
1982 AND WILL END SEPTEMBER 30, 1983.
The Town Clerk. read this Ordinance for its final reading
in its entirety, after which MOTION was made by COMMISSIONER PAUL/
COMMISSIONER STEWART to adopt the ordinance. The Town Commission
was polled by the Town Clerk and all voted aye.
Item #2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA
TO EFFECT A TAX LEVY BASED UPON THE 1983 TAX ROLL
OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH.
The Town Clerk read this Ordinance for its final reading
in its entirety. The Town Manager noted that the figures re-
garding millage and dollars were not accurate as read by the
Town Clerk. Accurate figures were inserted and the ordinance
was again read in its entirety by the Town Clerk, after which
MOTION was made by COMMISSIONER STEWART/COMMISSIONER PAUI~ to
adopt the ordinance. The Town Commission was polled by the
Town Clerk and all voted aye.

APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1983/84,
BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1983 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1984.
The Town Clerk read this Ordinance for its final reading
in its entirety. It was noted again that the figures regarding
millage and dollars were not accurate as read by the Town Clerk.
Accurate figures were inserted and the ordinance was again read
by the Town Clerk in its entirety, after which MOTION was made
by COMMISSIONER PAUL/COMMISSIONER STEWART to adopt the ordinance.
The Town Commission was polled by the Town Clerk and all voted aye.

MOTION was made by COMMISSIONER STEWART/COMMISSIONER PAUI~ to
approve the Bills for Approval. All voted aye.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
5:55 p.m.
