2. INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR THE PERMANENT TOWN MANAGER
POSITION BEGINNING AT 9:00 AM
Discussion ensued with regard to the Town Attorney not being present at this meeting. Town
Clerk Gaskins contacted Attorney Torcivia at 9:22 AM and he joined the meeting by telephone
at that time.
MOTION: Commissioner Riesa moved to cancel the Special Meeting due to the fact that the
Town Attorney and the Interim Town Manager were not present, and there were only two
candidates present. The motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Nila.
Commission Discussion:
Mayor Feldman explained that there are two candidates to be interviewed and asked Colin
Baenziger how he wished to proceed.
Colin Baenziger explained that it was up to the Commission to decide if they want to interview
the two candidates at this time or postpone it to a later date when there could possibly be more
candidates to interview.
Discussion ensued regarding Vice Mayor Nila meeting with each candidate on Sunday and the
other Commissioners were not given the opportunity to meet with them. Discussion continued
regarding the number of candidates recruited by Colin Baenziger firm and the few that were
presented to the Commission. It was the consensus of the Commission that they be given the
