PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
MORATORIUM ORDINANCE
Tuesdav, June 19, 1984 5:01 P.M.
A Public Hearing on the proposed Moratorium Ordinance was called to
order by Mayor Louis Y. Horton at 5:01 p.m. in the Town Commission
Chambers at Highland Beach Town Hall. Also in attendance were Vice
Mayor Mary Louise G. Blosser, Commissioners John J. Basso, William E.
Paul and Betty Jean Stewart.
Also present were Town Attorney David Friedman; Town Manager Elaine W.
Roberts; Town Clerk Mary Ann Whaley; citizens and the general public.
The subject of the Public Hearing was the following proposed
ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH TO BE
DESIGNATED AS THE PARTIAL BUILDING PERMIT MORATORIUM
• ORDINANCE; RELATING TO SUSPENSION OF APPLICATIONS FOR
BUILDING PERMITS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION AND THE ISSUANCE
THEREOF; MAKING LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS OF FACT; DECLARING
THE LEGISLATIVE INTENT AND PURPOSE OF THIS ACT; DECLARING
A MORATORIUM ON APPLICATIONS FOR AND ISSUANCE OF BUILDING
PERMITS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE
EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Mayor read the proposed Ordinance by title and asked if there were
any persons present desiring to be heard on the matter. No members of
the public requested to be heard on the matter.
There being no further business to come before the Town Commission at
this public hearing, the meeting was ad' urned at 5:10 p.m.
