A Workshop Meeting to review the proposed zoning revisions was called to order by Mayor Louis Y. Horton at 2:00 p.m. in the Town Commission Chambers of Highland Beach Town Hall. Also in attendance were Vice Mayor Blosser, Commissioners John J. Basso, William E. Paul and Betty Jean Stewart. Also present were Town Attorney David Friedman;Gee and Jenson representative Ron Hoggard; Town Manager Elaine W. Roberts; Building Official Bruce Sutherland; Town Clerk Mary Ann Whaley; citizens and the general public. The Town Commission reviewed the recommendations as submitted in a letter from Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney dated June 18, 1984, a copy of which letter is attached and made a part of these minutes. It was the consensus of the Town Commission that the recommendations offered by the Town Attorney be approved. • Also discussed was a recommendation of the Building Official regarding the provision of visibility triangles. It was the recommendation of the Building Official that rather than providing for the visibility triangles as presently stated in the zoning ordinance i.e. requiring that no hedge or wall be higher than 2.5 feet, that a 5 foot hedge or wall be allowed as long as it is placed at least 5 feet back from the property line. It was the consensus of the Town Commission that the Building Official's recommendation could be incorporated into the present requirements and therefore Mr. Hoggard was requested to draw up language to provide same. The Town Manager was directed to draw up a proposed schedule in order to accomodate the passage of the Zoning Ordinance by the September 4, 1984 Regular Meeting. This meeting was recessed at 3:10 p.m. in order to hold a Special Meeting. Upon re-convening the Workshop Meeting, discussion was held regarding the action taken in the Special Meeting involving the purchase of a new Ford Escort automobile for the Building Department. The Town Manager was directed to administratively solicit proposals from additional Ford Dealers prior to purchasing the approved automobile. There being no further business to come before the Town Commission at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 5:20 p.m. • .i Warkshop Meeting on Zoning 2 of 2 '~ June 19, 1984 APPROVED : lc?-~~ Louis Y.
