1984.06.05_TC_Minutes_Special TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA • Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission PUBLIC HEARING ON MORATORIUM ORDINANCE Tuesday, June 5, 1984 5.O1 p m A Public Hearing to receive citizen input into the proposed Moratorium Ordinance was called to order by Mayor Louis Y. Horton at 5:01 p.m. in the Town Commission Chambers of Town Hall. Also present were Commissioners John J. Basso, William E. Paul and Betty Jean Stewart. Vice Mayor Mary Louise G. Blosser was absent. Also present were Town Attorney Lewis Petzold; Town Manager Elaine W.-~. Roberts; Town Clerk Mary Ann Whaley; citizens and the general public.. After stating the purpose of the public hearing, Mayor Horton read the proposed ordinance in full. The title of the ordinance read is: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOTnl~T OF HIGHLAND BEACH TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE PARTIAL BUILDING PERMIT MORATORIUM • ORDINANCE; RELATING TO SUSPENSION OF APPLICATIONS FOR BUILDING PERMITS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION AND THE ISSUANCE THEREOF; MAKING LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS OF FACT; DECLARING THE LEGISLATIVE INTENT AND PURPOSE OF THIS ACT; DECLARING A MORATORIUM ON APPLICATIONS FOR AND ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE. This was a public hearing, however, there were no citizens desiring to be heard on the matter. The Mayor announced that the next public hearing on this matter would be held at 5:01 p.m. on June 19, 1984.
