Upon MOTION by Mr. Stern/Mr. Burd the minutes of the February 13, 2008 Workshop meeting (Goldstein) were unanimously approved. Upon MOTION by Mr. Stern/Mr. Colby the minutes of the March 25, 2008 Workshop meeting (Renaissance) were unanimously approved. NEW BUSINESS 1. Discussion re policy on petitioners being out of town when a meeting has been scheduled to hear their petition. • Chairman Halpern referenced the Goldstein petition where the applicant's attorney did not show up, claiming he did not receive notification of the meeting. The meeting was rescheduled on his behalf. The attorney then asked for a cancellation of the second scheduled meeting due to the applicant being out of town. Chair Halpern noted that this has happened with other petitioners, and recommended that an applicant send a representative if he can't be there. Mr. Dawson suggested that the Boazd hold monthly meetings on the 3~ Tuesday of the month, the same day the Board now meets quarterly. That way, he can tell an applicant a definite date for a variance hearing rather than waiting for a date to be scheduled. The Board members will keep their calendars open for those dates, and if there is no new business will be contacted of a cancellation. After further discussion, the Boazd elected to have monthly meetings, the third Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. 2. Reschedule of the Goldstein Dock petition. 3. Possible reschedule of the Renaissance petition. Chairman Halpern requested that the Renaissance public hearing, scheduled for May 8, be rescheduled due to his being out of town on the 8a'. Because the Goldstein petition needs to be rescheduled, the Boazd elected to hold both variances on the same date. A date of Tuesday, May 20 was selected with the Renaissance petition scheduled at 1:00 p.m. and the Goldstein petition to follow. • Recording secretary will contact both applicants regarding the rescheduled dates. s • BOARD OF ADNSTMENT APRIL 9.2008 Page 2 of 2 With no further business to come before the Board, MOTION to adjourn was made by Mr. Halpern/Mr. Burd at 2:45 p.m. royal: Jack A.
