PUBLIC HEARING/WORKSHOP MEETING

Chairperson Joseph Sarubbi called the Workshop Meeting to order in
Commission Chambers at 9:30 a.m.
Deputy Town Clerk Jane Dillon called the roll. Present were Vice
Chair Merton Rubin, Joseph Yucht. Peter Corrales, Michael Hill, and
Jack Halpern. Barbara Eagel was absent. Also in attendance was
Building Official Bob Dawson and Town Attorney Tom Sliney.
THIS IS A WORKSHOP MEETING TO REVIEW THE FOLLOWING PETITIONS FOR
VARIANCES:
NO. 05-05-88: REQUEST SUBMITTED BY MICHAEL SCHATZ, FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1096 BEL LIDO DRIVE.
OWNER; MICHAEL SCHATZ.
SEEKING RELIEF FROM TOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 30,
ARTICLE IV [ZONING DISTRICTS]; SECTION 68 [SUPPLEMENTAL
DISTRICT REGULATIONS]; (G)(6)d; MARINE FACILITIES.
REQUESTING: REPLACE EXISTING DOCK WITH THE SAME SIZE
• DOCK.
Shelly Greenwald of 4308 Tranquility Drive, has no objection if the
dock is replaced with the same size dock, but do have an objection
if size-is changed. George Barlow also has no objection as long as
the dock remains the same size. After further discussion, ~e-
- MOTION was made by MR. HALPERN/MR. HILL to grant FINAL
approval. Rollcall vote carried unanimously.
NO. 05-05-89: REQUEST SUBMITTED BY ODED MELTZER, FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3511 S. OCEAN DRIVE.

REQUESTING: INCREASE BUILDING HEIGHT FROM 35 FT TO 40 FT.
SEEKING RELIEF FROM TOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 30,
ARTICLE IV [ZONING DISTRICTS]; SECTION 68 [SUPPLEMENTAL
DISTRICT REGULATIONS] ; (u) (4) (e) (1) ; OBSERVATION DECKS AND
WIDOW'S WALKS.
REQUESTING: INCREASE ALLOWABLE OBSERVATION DECK FROM 225 S.F.

SEEKING RELIEF FROM TOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 30,
ARTICLE IV [ZONING DISTRICTS]; SECTION 68 [SUPPLEMENTAL
DISTRICT REGULATIONS]; (p)(1); ROOF OVERHANGS.
REQUESTING: INCREASE MAXIMUM OVERHANG OF 10% TO SECOND
LEVEL (31%), THIRD LEVEL TO (20.3%).
Mr. Dawson noted that Mr. Meltzer failed to meet the advertising
requirements, and will ask the Board to reschedule for a new date to
comply with the advertising requirements. Mr. Meltzer noted that
there was a miscalculation of the neighbors and overlooked several
condos and a single family home. He requested another date for a
hearing, of which Thursday, September 15 at 9:30 was scheduled.
With no further business to come before the Board, MOTION to adjourn
was made by MR. RUBIN/MR. HALPERN at 10:00 a.m.
