Cohen called this Workshop Meeting to order in Com- mission Chambers at 1:30 P.M. Deputy Town Clerk Doris Trinley called the roll. Present were the Chairman, Vice Chairman David Augenstein and Members Robert F. Selby and Richard C. Seguso. Members Benjamin Cohen, Jane Rayner and Daniel C. Stump were absent. Chairman Cohen advised the reason for the Workshop was to review the following: PETITION FOR VARIANCE N0. 11-91-43. SUBMITTED BY G. ANTONACCI, OWNER, SEEKING RELIEF FROM SIDE SETBACK FOR BUILDING AT 3525 S. OCEAN BLVD., LOT 78E; TOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES: CHAPTER 30, SECTION 4.3 (e) (5) . The Chairman also noted for the record that a recess would be called to accommodate a physical inspection of the site, as well as the fact that no decision would be made by the Board today. • John G. Baccari, architect for the project, represented Mr. Antonacci and explained the reason the Petition for Variance was sought. He said the existing building was formerly a 10-unit motel; Mr. Antonacci was now proposing to create three (3) units only, to be used as private residences for himself and his two sons. In order to create more livable space, Mr. Baccari said, Mr. Antonacci was asking to extend the rear of of the building out 4', which would create non-conformance in the side setback for a two-story structure, which Code now requires to be 20'; the petition asks relief from code so the addition would have a 10'side setback. Building Official Heithaus stated the structure itself was nonconform- ing as to present Code. Mr. Baccari presented plans to the members, which were reviewed. Mr. Baccari said that although the plans showed a completed project, only the unit to be used for Mr. Antonacci himself would be worked on to begin with. He explained that this would entail taking 2 units from the upper floor and 2 units from the lower floor, creating one two- level unit for Mr. Antonacci. The remaining units (3 on the upper floor and 3 on the lower floor) would ultimately be made into one-floor units for his sons. +.1^ ~ ~ Board of Adjustment Workshop - Minutes December 20, 1991 Page 2 of 2 i After some further discussion and review, the Chairman called for a recess so the property could be physically inspected.
