BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
PETITION FOR VARIANCE Public Hearing MARCH 23, 1984
#3-84-17 1:30 P. M.
Chairman Schiff called the Public Hearing to order at 1:30 p.m.
for the purpose of examining the Petition for Variance, under
Section 11 of Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town
of Highland Beach.
Those in attendance were: Albert Schiff, Chairman; Benjamin E.
Winston, Vice Chairman; Albert Kahler, Arthur J. Kiefer, Gilbert G.
Lorenz (Alternate No. 1), and Harold Cohen (Alternate No.2).
Also present were: Anthony Abbate, Building Inspector; Elizabeth
Kolek, Secretary; and two Town residents.
Chairman Schiff stated it was the intention of the Chair to hear
from the Petitioner, property owners involved, Tony Abbate (Building
Inspector), and then open the meeting to comments from residents,
after which the Board Members will have their discussion.
Mr. E. Reginald Harding, President of the Boca Cove Property
Owners Association, stated that on behalf of the Association, he
knew of no objections to the height of the wall.
Chairman Schiff stated that no comments were received by mail and
that all copies of mailings and certified -return receipts concerning
the property owners involved were on file.
After this was accomplished and after discussion by the Board,
a MOTION was made by Stephen Doig, seconded by Mr. Kahler, to
grant this Petition for Variance by Milord Development Corporation.
A poll of the Board resulted as follows: Mr. Kahler, FOR;
Mr. Winston, FOR; Mr. Kiefer, FOR; Mr. Doig, FOR; Mr. Schiff, FOR.
The decision was unanimous in favor of granting this Petition
for Variance.
MOTION was made by Mr. Kahler, seconded by Mr. Doig, to adjourn
the public hearing at 1:50 p.m. All agreed.
