1983.11.11_BAA_Minutes_RegularTOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA • BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT PETITION FOR VARIANCE PUBLIC HEARING October 11, 1983 #10-83-15 1:30 P.M. Chairman Schiff called the Public Hearing to order at 1:30 P.M. for the purpose of examining the Petition for Variance under Section 11 of Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Highland Beach. Those in attendance were: Albert Schiff, Chairman; Benjamin E. Winston, Vice Chairman; Albert Kahler, Arthur J. Kiefer and alternates Gilbert G. Lorenz and Harold Cohen. Mr. Doig was absent. Mrs. Roberts, Town Manager, and Rita Ebersole were also present. lst Alternate, Gilbert Lorenz took Mr. Doig's seat on the Board. Chairman Schiff said it was the intention of the Chair to hear from the Petitioner; property owners involved; Tony Abbate, Building Inspector; then open the meeting to residents; after which the Board members would have their discussion. When this was accomplished, Mr. Schiff stated he had received 75 petitions from the residents of Villa Magna and three return receipts from the three neighboring properties showing they had been advised of this meeting. No one from Holiday Inn was present, it was noted. MOTION was made by Mr. Kahler, seconded by Mr. Winston to grant this petition for variance by Villa Magna (Foundation Investments Inc.). A poll of the Board resulted as follows: Mr. Kahler, FOR; Mr. Winston, FOR: Mr. Kiefer, FOR: Mr. Lorenz, FOR. The decision was unanimous in favor of granting this petition for variance. Motion by Mr. Winston, seconded by Mr. Kiefer to adjourn at 2:00 P.M. All voted in favor.
