WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES
9:30 A.M.
Chair Lucy Miller called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. In attendance were Vice Chair
Martha Pando, Betty Jane Hofstader, Evelyn Weiss, Ruth Samuels, and Gary Guertin.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Upon Motion by Chair Lucy Miller and Mr. Guertin, the following sets of minutes were
unanimously approved.
May 8, 2007 Regular
NEW /OLD BUSINESS
- Revitalize the Dunes
- Present what we want as standards and then take the information to the Commission.
- Same standards of cleanliness on both sides of AIA.
- People, who get the most from beach cleaning, pay the most.
• - Clean a113 miles of beach 3 times a week? Every other day? Mulch up seaweed and
place against the dunes. Mechanical beach cleaning as well as manual beach
cleaning.
- Erosion Control /Erosion Repair
- Highland beach logo on trash receptacles? /Adding more trash containers
- Complaints, mechanical beach cleaners bury trash into the sand.
OTHER BUSINESS
- Educate Citizens on how to file a complaint with the Police Deparhnent
- Dales Sugerman -What are the standards for yards /Cleanliness?
- Bill Moore is doing a fine job keeping up with waste.
- Memorial session to paint markers in Memory of James Wanat
- Continue with James' Turtle program projects
