MINUTES HIGHLAND BEACH TOWN COMMISSION June 1, 1968
A workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Horton at 9:30 AM
Saturday, June lst, 1968. All Commissioners were present except
Commissioner Noble.
Balance sheets, prepared by the auditor, were reviewed to aid in
preparing a budget for this fiscal year. It was agreed that $2400.
a year of the Town Managers salary be charged to the water plant,
the balance to the General Account. Commissioner McCook was directed
to draft a suggested budget for consideration at the July meeting.
Discussion on the completion of fencing, landscaping and a wall at
the water plant was made. It was decided, as a security measure,
the chain link fence should be placed on the balance of the property
lines.
Mayor Horton suggested looking into the matter of having 4 pay
telephone at Town Hall for public use.
The position of Highland on the proposed tax districe for access
roads to I 95 was discussed, as to whht further action would be
necessary. Mayor Horton will direct a letter to the County Commission
stating our position.
Commissioner Hackman reported that Boone Nursery was hired to care
for the lawn at Town Hall. Also the Town Hall sign should be painted
until some decision is made on acquiring a new one.
