u A special meeting was called by Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Dent, Commissioners
Joy and Mumford for October 19th for the purpose of setting the 1972 tax
millage rate. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Horton at 10 :00
A.M. In attendance were all Commissioners except Commissioner Jurisch;
Mrs. Roberts, Mr. Allan George, Finance Commissioner and the members of
his committee - Mr. Ben Abbott, Mr. John Cruise, and Mr. Richard Brunton.
Mr. George commented on the accounting and budget experience of his
members and reported they had all met with Mrs. Roberts on October 18th
from 2 :30 P.M. to 5 :00 P.M. to finalize the 1972 -73 budget.
The committee recommend several revisions, which he explained. Discussion
followed. Commissioner Joy moved to adopt the budget as presented. Vice
Mayor Dent seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Commissioner Joy then moved to set the millage rate at 4.8. The Vice
Mayor seconded and this was unanimously voted.
The meeting adjourned at 10 :50 A.M.
