1972.05.30_TC_Minutes_Workshop MINUTES: WORKSHOP MEETING OF THE TOWN COMMISSION - May 30, 1972 A Workshop Meeting f the Town Commission g was called to order by Mayor o M r Horton on May 30, 1972 at 7 :30 P.M. All Commissioners were present, along with Mrs. Roberts and several interested Townspeople. Mayor Horton reported he received notification that the deed restrictions in the Byrd Beach section have been lifted. He stated he will have the Town Attorney look into it. Mayor Horton read a letter from a resident in Penthouse Towers complaining of the early hour of garbage pickup. Mrs. Roberts was instructed to handle this matter. There were comments in regard to a survey, submitted by Mrs. Roberts, to be studied by the Commissioners, concerning hiring and charging fees for professional consultants, in regard to applications for building permits. Discussion was held regarding the proposed Ordinance vacating and abandoning Florida Avenue and the proposed 51st Street Bridge. Further investigation into these issues is referred to the Town Attorney. Mrs. Roberts was told to have the Attorney draw up a Resolution stating the official position of the Town Commission. Discussion was also held in regard to two other proposed Ordinances - No. 1 to require a dredge and fill permit in the Town and; No. 2 - to provide initiative, referendum and recall. Prolonged discussion took place on the "Tentative Zoning Ordinances" submitted to the Town Commission for study by the Planning Board. Mayor Horton presented revised plans received from Architect Roy Simon for the new Town Hall, for the Commissioners to review and offer comments.
