MINUTES: SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN COMMISSION - December 27 1973.
\..i The Special Meeting requested by Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Dent and
Commissioner Gilday for the purpose of considering filling the
vacancy on the Planning Board was called to order by Mayor Horton
at 11:00 A.M.

i Present were: Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Dent, and Commissioners
Gilday and Mumford.
Mayor Horton read a communication from the Highland Beach Civic
League which suggested the vacancy on the Planning Board be filled by
a single - family dwelling owner, they recommended further that the
Commission appoint Mr. Tom Losee. The Mayor advised that Mr. Losee
declined, since he is President of the League it may appear that
this was a conflict of interest. The Commission was informed that
Mr. Joseph Boscove, resident in Bel Lido, had indicated his willing-
ness to serve. Matter discussed. Commissioner Gilday offered the
motion to approve Mr. Boscove to fill the unexpired term of Col.
Fran Johnson, the term is valid to July 2, 197!�Y Commissioner Mumford
seconded the motion and Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Dent and Commissioners
Gilday, Joy, and Mumford unaminously approved the appointment.
Commissioner Gilday moved to fill the vacant postion of an alternate
u on the Planning Board. He offered Mr. Harold Rosenberg as a
' candidate to such board. Commissioner Gilday advised the Commission
that Mr. Rosenberg is a resident of Penthouse Towers and his
business experience consisted of insurance, finances and pension
plans. Mayor Horton suggested that Mr. Rosenberq's business
acumen would be of greater value on the Finance Committee. No
action was taken, vacant postions would be considered at the next
regular meeting.
The Special Meeting adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
