Present were Mayor Horton, Vice Mayor Dent, Commissioners Joy and Mumford,
Town Administrator and a Town resident,
Mayor Horton read a letter from Mr. Morrison requesting to fill lots 93 and 94.
This was referred to the building department.
The proposed elevator ordinance was discussed.
The Mayor read a letter received from the Town Attorney in regard to the
Delray Beach Whitehouse property.
Mayor Horton read a letter received from Congressman Paul Rogers acknowledging
receipt of our Resolution urging the completion of I -95.
The Mayor read a letter received from the director of the Science Museum re-
questing that we send a letter to County Commissioner Lake Lytal, urging financial
support of the County for this facility.
Mayor Horton read a letter of resignation from Planning Board member Miss Sheila Cain,
who has moved.
Also read was a letter of resignation as Town Clerk by Mrs. Roberts, because of the
appointment of Mrs. Ciomei effective July 1st.
The Mayor read a letter received from the South Florida Regional Planning Council,
He suggested all the Commissioners look it over.
Mayor Horton read a list of names suggested for the Charter Revision Committee and
asked for any further names that anyone would care to submit: toward action in
the near future.
A copy of a new Engineering Law for procuring Professional Services was referred to
Commissioner Joy.
The Mayor reported on information in the final Legislative Bulletin and copies of
bills passed and said that Mrs. Roberts and the Town Attorney will be conferring
about this.
ViCC Mayor Dent reported that Mr. Hoffman has requested a RPUD on 25 acres for 1048
apartments and that the building department has forwarded the petition to the
Planning Board. He further said that Mr. Steinhardt is planning 792 apartments
on 15 1/2 acres; that Mr. Urbanek is clearing land and that Boca Hi has requested
a preliminary hearing with the Planning Board and will file plans next week.
Commissioner Mumford asked about the dedication date and the Mayor answered it will
be in October or the first part of November, but thought we would be in the building
by the first of August. She mentioned an odor at the lift station #2 and Mrs. Roberts
answered she would have Mr. Arney check it.

Commissioner Joy asked about the status on the Water Plant expansion and Mrs. Roberts
answered that the plans had gone to the Board of Health for approval about the
middle of April. The next step will be to prepare for bids for construction.
There was discussion about the Urbanek -Town agreement amendment; State Revenue
Sharing monies, millage rate and the possibility of including sewer charges in
ad valorem taxes.
Mrs. Stewart reported that she and several neighbors are going to trap racoons and
possums and will transport them out of Town. She said she had talked to Dr. Levin,
a property owner in Town, who was planning to build a home and he had reported
several items in question about zoning requirements; whether a seawall would be
needed, how to arrange for test borings for pilings if necessary and about dune
protection. Discussion followed.
Mrs. Roberts reported receiving an addendum for the contract between the Town and
Mr. Arney for approval at the regular meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 10 :15 P.M.
