1952.07.01_TC_Minutes EQUALIZATION BOARD ON TAX ASSESSMENTS Minutes. Highland Beach Town Commission. July 1, 1952• j The meeting was called" r to order at 2:30 P.M. by Mayor Tottedale. Also present were Comm. Skillman, Smith and Hertwig Comm:' 14armon was absent being out of town. The Tax Assessor presented the assessment roll; of property within the Town of Highland Beach for the year 1952; and the roll shows the following valuations; 1952 Tag Roll, Town of Highland Beach: Total value of all taxable real property 604 Total value all taxable personal property 4 IOC, Total va lue all taxable property $ 649,41 V&-1ue of homestead exemptions 87;500: Value of other exemption 1,000. Gross total assessed va, lue all property 737,910: The Commission reviewed the Ta x Roll and the assessed valuations q as shown thereon and the Mayor in red whether there were any pv- party owners or representatives of @a.me whQ wished to matte any pro- test concerning the assessment roll: Comm:' Hartwig advised tba - t Mr. L A, wingle bad looked over his - ass6ssment and wished to poo- test same as being excessive and unequal; The board -- "considered' the assessment figures of the Wngle' property and agreed unanim ously that the assessment was excessive and acco it was e.. quali.zed $21,000 for real property and $1,4000 for personal property. No other persons were present to question or protest the Assess. ment Roll and the several commissioners stated that they had not received any notice that any such persons desired to be heard. The Tax Assessor pointed out several discrepancies and errors which he ha d equa lized in making the Assessment Rolland by general a- greement all such items were approvedi after which the commission- ers decided to recess the meeting so as to allow more opportunity for interested parties to make protest.
