Boulay called this Public Hearing/Special Meeting to order in Commission Chambers at 4:00 P.M, stating its purpose was to discuss the status of Harry Heithaus, Building Official, and make a decision on that status. Deputy Town Clerk Doris Trinley called the roll. Present were the Mayor, Vice Mayor Bill Paul and Commissioners Arthur Eypel, John F. Rand and Arlin Voress. The following were also present: George P. Roberts, Jr., Esq., Roberts & Reynolds, P.A., acting as Special Counsel to the Town Commission. Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano. Michael Gora, Esq., Hodgson, Russ, Andrews, Woods and Goodyear, P.A., acting as Counsel to the Town Manager. Harry Heithaus, Building Official. Lawrence J. Scher, Esq., acting as Counsel to Mr. Heithaus. In addition, the audience was comprised of Town employees and members of the general public. Mr. Gora called the following witnesses, who were duly sworn: Mary Ann Mariano, Town Manager R.J. Corsino, Police Sergeant William Cecere, Police Chief Silvio Blaskovic, Resident Michael Trotto, General Contractor Ethel Lenhardt, Building Department Secretary Patricia Cummings, Finance Officer Doris Trinley, Deputy Town Clerk This completed Mr. Gora's slate of witnesses; Mr. Scher was given the opportunity to question all. At this time, 6:50 P.M., it was mutually agreed by all parties to recess for a supper break; the Meeting reconvened at 7:45 P.M, with all principal parties again present. ~. Peter Ince, Builder/Developer Mark Rothenberg, Developer Harry Heithaus, Building Official Thomas E. Sliney, Esq. This completed Mr. Scher's slate of witnesses; Mr. Gora was given the opportunity to question all. At this time Mr. Gora called Elizabeth Ulitsch, Utilities/Payroll Clerk as an additional witness. She was duly sworn and Mr. Scher was given the opportunity to question her. NOTE: During the course of questioning, each side submitted exhibits for the record which are attached to and made part of these Minutes. Gora and Scher each presented a summary. After a statement was made by each member of the Town Commission, the following MOTION was made by COMMISSIONER VORESS/COMMISSIONER RAND: THE TOWN COMMISSION CONCURS WITH THE TOWN MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION RELATIVE TO TERMINATION OF HARRY HEITHAUS.
