1994.01.04_TC_Minutes_Regular-i '' TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA: Minutes of Meeting of Town Commission REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, January 04, 1994 1:30 p.m. Vice Mayor Bill Paul, in the absence of Mayor Arlin Voress, called the Regular Meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of Highland Beach, Florida, to order in the Commission Chambers at Town Hall at 1:30 p.m. Others in attendance were Commissioners Arthur Eypel, John F. Rand, and David Augenstein. Also in attendance were Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney, Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano, Town Clerk Anne M. Kowals, and members of the general public. Following roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance was given. ADOPTION OF AGENDA The Agenda was adopted as presented. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The following sets of Minutes were presented for consideration: November 30, 1993 - Workshop Meeting December 07, 1993 - Regular Meeting MOTION by COMMISSIONER RAND/COMMISSIONER AUGENSTEIN approving the above Minutes as submitted was unanimously accepted. PUBLIC COMMENTS AND REQUESTS No individual addressed the Town Commission under Public Comments and Requests. REPORTS - TOWN COMMISSION Vice Mayor Bill Paul Vice Mayor Bill Paul had no report at this time. Commissioner Arthur Eypel Commissioner Arthur Eypel, citing a letter from Congressman E. Clay Shaw addressed to Chairman Peter Elwell of the Beaches and Shores Council regarding opposition to the National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1993, stated residents will be apprized of any Flood Insurance Legislation that affects our community to a serious degree. Rand, under his report, alluding to a letter of December 22, 1993, from Town Attorney Sliney to Town Manager Mariano regarding 4715 South Ocean Boulevard (Town Lot No. 3 East), noting this matter requires a MOTION, proposed the Town Commission approve the action contained in said letter. The MOTION, SECONDED by COMMISSIONER AUGENSTEIN, received unanimous acceptance. Commissioner David Augenstein Commissioner David Augenstein had no report at this meeting. Mayor Arlin Voress Mayor Arlin Voress was absent - no report. REPORTS - TOWN ATTORNEY Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney had no report at today's meeting. REPORTS - TOWN MANAGER • Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano, noting a letter from Adelphia Cable listing a brief summary of suggestions as a follow-up to the points made during previous discussions regarding the franchise agreement was received, requested the Town's Attorney Cormac Conahan, Adelphia's Director of Government and Community Affairs Chuck Blaine, etc., be invited to the January Town Commission Workshop Meeting where our concerns can be addressed. REPORTS - BOARDS AND COMMITTEES Vice Mayor Paul, noting there was little activity on the Boards and Committees during the past month as reflected in the attached Board Action Report, cited the scheduled meetings of the various Town Boards and Committees. PROPOSED ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS 1. A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 633, WHICH CREATED THE ADVICE AND PROTECTION PROGRAM AD HOC COMMITTEE.
