TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH
TOWN COMMISSION
WORKSHOP MEETING - MINUTES
Tuesday, December 27, 1994 1:30 P.M.
Vice Mayor Bill Paul called the Workshop Meeting to order in Town
Commission Chambers at 1:30 P.M.
Deputy Town Clerk Doris Trinley called the roll. The Vice Mayor
and Commissioners Arthur Eypel and David Augenstein were present.
Mayor Arlin G. Voress and Commissioner John F. Rand were absent.
Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano and Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney
were also in attendance, as were members of the general public.
The agenda was unanimously accepted as written.
94.1 Public Comments and Requests
None.
93.8 Discussion re Adelphia Cable
Ms. Mariano advised that she and Attorney Cormac Conahan
will work together to submit an appropriate response to Adelphia's
recently received proposal.
94.2 Boards and Committees
Vice Mayor Paul announced a vacancy each on the Planning
and Community Appearance Boards, advising John Littlejohn had com-
pleted his 6-year term on the CAB and Domenic Marino had resigned
from the Planning Board due to personal reasons.
The Vice Mayor also acknowledged receipt of two (2)
Planning Board recommendations, relating to (1) an amendment to
Code regarding the height of tennis court fences and (2) a Special
Exception application regarding Lot 57 West, which will be heard by
the Commission on Friday, January 20, 1995 at 1:30 P.M.

MISCELLANEOUS - ITEMS LEFT OVER
The Status of Building Development in Town was received as
information. There was no comment or discussion.
There being no additions, deletions or amendments, Vice Mayor Paul
moved two (2) sets of Minutes to the January 3, 1995 Regular
Meeting for possible approval (11/29 Workshop and 12/06 Regular).
REPORTS -TOWN COMMISSION
No formal reports were forthcoming from Commission members;
however, they joined in extending best wishes for the coming New
Year to all residents.
REPORTS - TOWN ATTORNEY
Attorney Sliney had no report.
REPORTS - TOWN MANAGER
Town Manager Mariano advised that Town Clerk Anne Kowals has been
out on extended sick leave for considerable time and it is
uncertain when she will return. To ensure continued efficient and
smooth operation of the Clerk's office, particularly in view of the
start of qualifying for the March elections in January, Ms. Mariano
said it will be her recommendation at the January 3, 1995 Regular
Meeting that the Commission repeal the Resolution appointing Mrs.
Kowals Town Clerk and name Deputy Town Clerk Doris Trinley as
Acting Town Clerk and Mrs. Kowals as Deputy. She advised such
action would not affect Mrs. Kowals` salary or benefits.
There being no further business to come before the Commission at
this time, the meeting was adjourned upon MOTION by COMMISSIONER
AUGENSTEIN/COMMISSIONER EYPEL at 1:40 P.M.
