MEMORANDUM
TO: TOWN COMMISSION
TOWN MANAGER
TOWN ATTORNEY
FROM: DORIS TRINLEY (~
TOWN CLERK
DATE: FEBRUARY 12, 1998
RE: POLL WORKERS FOR MARCH 10, 1998 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
Because there are no county, or other government, issues to vote on March 10,
municipalities who are having elections that date will not receive any kind of assistance
from the Supervisor of Elections Office, i.e., securing poll workers, voting machines, etc. will
be each municipality's responsibility.
As you are aware, the Town will hold an election for Vice Mayor and, therefore, the
following list of poll workers, who have agreed to cover that election, is submitted for your
. consideration:
David Forest, Clerk
Edith Forest, Inspector
Betty Barnes, Inspector
Miriam Appelbaum, Inspector
Eve Harmel, Inspector
Alice Schultz, Inspector
The Town will be responsible for paying each individual; Mr. Forest is entitled to $105.00
and each inspector $80.00, for a total of $505.00. These fees are per the County
Supervisor of Elections Poll Worker Pay Schedule for 1998, a copy of which is attached for
your information.
Also, Mr. Forest has informed me that he and the others would like a letter of commitment
from the Town as soon as possible. Therefore, also attached is a copy of a Public Notice
for a Special Meeting to consider their approval, which I've scheduled for Wednesday,
February 18. 1998 at 9:25 A.M., immediately prior to your Special Workshop Meeting
regarding the Dedication Ceremony for the new Town Hall complex.
Thank you.
