PUBLIC COMMENTS AND REQUESTS George Kelvin- Braemar Isle Driving down AiA thru Boca Raton, the shoulder of the road is designated as a bike lane. When you enter Highland Beach it ends. Whatever they are doing in Boca should also be done here in I-rghland Beach Our Police Chief has stated that it is not a bike lane but the shoulder of the road.. Comm. Pagiiaro — The Polite Chief is in the audience, will he come forward and address the question - Police Chief Hartmann — The bike lane has been designated and properly marked in Boca for many years. Al A is a state road and is governed by FDOT and Florida statutes. The decision not to have a bike lane in Highland Beach was made before I came here. If you drive north on A 1 A, the designation of the bike lane is sporadic. If bicyclists are in the road, drivers should proceed Town Commission Regular Nfimdcs January 3.2012 3 of 6 with caution. Comm. Sheridan - There is width of lanes to have a bike lane in Hgd Beach- Comm Trinlev - A reguhtim bike lane is 5 feet wide and we do not have enough room on our town wads to accommodate this regulation. Vice Mayor Zwick - This problem has been going on for a long time. Bice riders and car drivers must share the road. George Kelvin - At Spanish River, the bite lane is the same sae as it ism Highland Beach. Comm. Sheridan - You can't call it a bike lane if it is not five feet wide. Carl Feldman - Vila Costa We lost a tradition this yea that started with Harold Hagelmann - "Light Up the Holidays." The Cultural Board originally put on the evoent real they were disbanded. The Financial Advisory board had their first meeting, and brought up some good ideas. They could be a great assistance to the Commission. Comm. krm—ky - I would hire to ask the Town Cleric how much was spent m putting on the last "Light Up the Sys." Town Clair Brown - $4,500.00 dollars. Harold Him - Boca I We have a beau t iM Town, and have evcrydnng that we have ever asked for. Sooner or later, we all will need to go to the hospital.
