MINUTES OF TOWN COMMISSION MEETING
PUBLIC HEARING/SPECIAL MEETING
Tuesday, November 28, 2000 2.20 P.M.
Mayor Thomas J. Reid called the Public Hearing/Special Meeting to order in Commission
Chambers at 2:20 P.M., immediately following the Workshop Meeting, advising its
purpose was to receive public input regarding the following proposed ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA, RELATING
TO REZONING; PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF TOWN LOTS 4E AND
5E; PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF THE "OFFICIAL ZONING MAP" OF
THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATE
REVISION OF THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP; PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE.
Note: first reading 11/08/00; first public hearing 11/08/00; public hearings
advertised 10/27 & 11/20; published as proposed ordinance 11/27/00)
• The Mayor further advised that a Special Meeting would follow at the conclusion of
public comments, at which time the Commission would consider adoption of the
proposed ordinance.
Town Clerk Doris Trinley called the roll. The Mayor, Vice Mayor Michael W. Hill, and
Commissioners John J. Sorrelli, Paul R. Kane and Robert L. Lowe were present.
Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney and Town Manager Ben Saag were also present, as
were members of the general public.
At the Mayor's request, the Town Clerk gave final reading to the proposed
ordinance.
Under Public Comments, the following residents spoke in opposition to the rezoning:
Dean Luce, 451 S. Ocean Blvd., Code Enforcement Board Member
Harold Hagelmann, 4748 S. Ocean Blvd., Planning Board Member
The following resident spoke in favor of the rezoning:
Gerald Church, 2575 S. Ocean Blvd., Planning Board Vice Chair
0 Hearing no other public comments, Mayor Reid opened the Special Meeting.

There were no comments forthcoming from the Commission members.
MOTION to approve the proposed rezoning ordinance, as referenced above, was made
by COMMISSIONER SORRELLUVICE MAYOR HILL, followed by unanimous roll call
vote.
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, Mayor Reid
adjourned the Public Hearing/Special Meeting at 2:35 P.M.
