HISTORICAL SOCIETY
ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
MINUTES
January 6 1999 9:30 a.m._
Chairman Leonard D. Bell called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.
Present were Chairman Bell and Members Pat Cayce, Victor Napoli
and Lillian Heidelberger. James Niehoff, John Demarco and Dan
Stump were absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Upon MOTION by MRS. CAYCE/MRS. HEIDELBERGER, the amended Minutes of
the November 16, 1998 and December 2, 1998 meetings were
unanimously approved.
NEW BUSINESS
The following items were discussed:
Mr. Bell addressed the date of the Historical Society's coffee as
Monday, January 11 at 10:00 a.m. He also noted February 18 as the
date for the Town's 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Pat Cayce presented a draft outline for the members use at the
coffee, of which all were agreeable to. (attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes.) It was agreed upon that a sign up sheet
for volunteers will be available.
Mr. Bell stated that there are files in the Town vault dating back
to 1964 containing newspaper clippings, and a scrap book dating
back prior to then. In the near future committee members and/or
volunteers will review subject files for historical content.
Mr. Bell expressed desire to have the committee continue forming
until June 1 whereby it will be decided if the committee will
become a volunteer citizen committee, develop as an association
with members, or become incorporated and remain as a committee.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 14, 1999 at 9:30 a.m.
With no further business to come before the Committee, Motion to
adjourn was made by Mr. Napoli/Mrs. Heidelberger at 10:20 a.m.
