At the initial meeting of the Highland Beach Historical Society held on May 29,
1998, 1 volunteered to obtain mission statements from other historical societies
and to put together a few sample statements for the committee to consider.
Attached are the comments I have received from the following:
• The Boca Raton Historical Society
• The Delray Beach Historical Society
• The Collier County Historical Society
• The Historical Society of Palm Beach County
Mission Statement Suggestions:
To promote awareness of the Town's history and to preserve the materials
pertaining to that history.
To promote interest in the historical and cultural history of the Town and to
provide public access to information pertaining to that history.
To foster interest in the evolving history of Highland Beach and to preserve,
collect and display photographs, documents, artifacts and other information
relevant to the Town's past.
