1988.04.20_CEB_Minutes_RegularTOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA • CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING - Minutes Wednesday, April 20, 1988 10:00 A.M. A Regular Meeting of the Code Enforcement Board, Town of Highland Beach, Florida, was called to order by Chairman William E. Paul at 10:00 A.M. in the Town Commission Chambers at Town Hall. The Deputy Town Clerk called the roll. Present were Chairman William E. Paul, Vice Chairman Joseph Boulay, Theodore Boepple, Edward Pearlstein, Pamela Perona, Joseph Sieff and Lowell Blum. Also present were Building Official/Code Enforcement Officer Bruce Sutherland, Deputy Town Clerk Anne Kowals and members of the general public. It was noted that the minutes of the Regular Meeting submitted for approval were changed to reflect the correct date (February 17, 1988). MOTION was made by Mr. Pearlstein/Mr. Boepple to approve the February 17, 1988, Workshop and Regular Meeting minutes as submitted. This MOTION carried unanimously with favorable votes. . OLD BUSINESS: Citation No. 2271 - BROADVIEW SAVINGS & LOAN COMPANY - NONCOMPLIANCE WITH AGREEMENT FOR PHASE II DATED AUGUST 11, 1987, REGARDING TOWN LOTS 59, 60, 62, 65, 69 WEST (HIDDEN HARBOR) The ORDER issued on February 17, 1988 has been complied with as there is no work being done on that site. It is the consensus of this Board that no further action is required at this time. NEW BUSINESS: Citation No. 2272 - BOCA-HI DEVELOPMENT COMPANY (THOMAS DELANEY) - RUBBISH, ETC. PROHIBITED. (INSTALL WOODEN FENCE TO OBSCURE UNSIGHTLY CONDITIONS.) Mr. Chris Adams representing Boca -Hi Development Company advised a wooden fence is in the process of being installed at the site by the Enclaves of Boca Cove. Chairman Paul noted that if Citation No. 2272 is not in compliance by the end of the week, the Code Enforcement Officer will take further action. Citation No. 2273 - CENTEL CABLE TELEVISION CO. OF FLORIDA, TOWN HALL PROPERTY, LOT 73 - INSTALLATION OF A SATELLITE DISH WITHOUT PERMIT. • Code Enforcement Board Regular Meeting - Minutes April 20, 1988 • Page 2 of 3 Mr. John Gamin, Director of Centel Cable Co. Operations, Southern Region, explained the reception of the satellite is accomplished by a small dish on the ground which receives the channels. Late in 1987 Centel moved to a new satellite. Due to the arc of the satellites, Centel could not see the new satellite from the direction of the dish of the existing satellite. For this reason it was necessary to install a new earth station. Mr. Gamin said he spoke with the Town Manager and was advised there will be a Town Commission meeting next week to fine tune the modifications of the lease. The Town Attorney advised the Code Enforcement Board as to the wording of the ORDER to be issued to Centel Cable as per agreement of all members. A MOTION was made by Vice Chairman Boulay/Mr. Boepple to issue the following ORDER: "THAT THE PROPERTY OWNER HAS A PERIOD OF SIXTY (60) DAYS, FROM THIS DATE, TO COME INTO COMPLIANCE WITH ALL THE APPLICABLE TOWN CODES, ORDINANCES AND LEASE AGREEMENTS." • The MOTION carried unanimously with all favorable votes. Citation No. 2274 - HIGHLANDS PLACE (A. HOLLOHAZY) 2901 S. OCEAN BLVD. - TEMPORARY SIGN --TO BE REMOVED. Chairman Paul advised that this has been taken care of and requires no further action. Citation No. 2275 - Z.O. HAMILTON INTERESTS OF FLORIDA, INC., ENCLAVES OF BOCA COVE - REMOVE TEMPORARY ELECTRIC POLE. Chairman Paul advised that this was corrected, therefore no further action by the Code Enforcement Board is necessary. Chairman Paul said the next meeting of the Code Enforcement Board will be on May 18, 1988 with the Workshop Meeting at 9:30 A.M. and the Regular Meeting at 10:00 A.M.
