TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA
• CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
FEBRUARY 20, 1985 REGULAR MEETING 10:00 A.M.
The Regular Meeting of the Code Enforcement Board was called to order
by Chairman Robert Scholz at 10:00 A.M.
Other members present were Secretary Ellen Gerber and Messrs. Donald
Sherbondy, Robert Myers, John Chironna, Theodore Boepple, Alfred Novak
and Edward J. Pearlstein (alt.). Also present were Town Manager Hugh
D. Williams, Building Inspector Anthony Abbate, Recording Secretary
Anne Kowals and a few Town residents.
Secretary Ellen Gerber read the minutes of the January 16, 1985, Regu-
lar Meeting.
A MOTION by Mr. Robert Myers, seconded by Mr. Boepple, to accept and
approve the minutes of the January 16, 1985, Workshop and Regular
Meeting as written, carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Secretary Ellen Gerber inquired about the status of her recommendation
• to the Town Commission regarding 'Recreational Vehicles'. Town At-
torney Tom Sliney advised the Board Members that the Town Commission
passed Ordinance ##502 covering this matter. This ordinance was read
into the minutes by Secretary Ellen Gerber.
NEW BUSINESS
Citation ##2246 - James A. Barry - Removing trees without a permit.
Code Enforcement Officer Anthony Abbate advised the
members the violation occurred at a private home be-
ing remodeled (The Barry Residence) at 4015 South
Ocean Boulevard. Trees that are removed must be re-
placed per Section 282 of the Town Code. An ORDER
was issued to Mr. James A. Barry stating the viola-
tion must be corrected by March 19, 1985. Failure
to comply will necessitate his appearance before the
Code Enforcement Board Meeting on March 20, 1985, and
may result in a fine not to exceed $250.00 per day.

• seawall. As this is a dangerous
g ous condition, an ORDER
was issued to Mr. Johnson stating a barricade must be
placed around the deteriorating seawall within 24
hours of receipt of this ORDER. Within ten days of
receipt of this ORDER, Mr. Johnson must present a
signed contract to this office indicating repairs
to the deteriorating seawall will be done in a rea-
sonable time limit. Failure to comply with this
ORDER will subject Mr. Johnson to a fine not to ex-
ceed $250.00 per day.
Mr. Donald Sherbondy made a MOTION, seconded by Mr. Theodore Boepple,
to take action on both CITATION #2246 and CITATION #2247. An ORDER
is to be issued to recipient of each CITATION mandating the violations
be corrected. All members were in favor.
Code Enforcement Officer Anthony Abbate said Boca Hi is on notice re-
garding the temporary construction sign posted at the site. They were
instructed to remove said sign.
Secretary Ellen Gerber will represent the Code Enforcement Board at the
•State Attorney's Seminar on the 'Conduct of Public Business' to be held
at Palm Beach Junior College on Thursday, February 21, 1985.,
The Code Enforcement Board is scheduled to meet'on Wednesday, March 20,
1985. Workshop Meeting at 9:30 A.M. - the Regular Meeting at 10:00 A.M.
A MOTION by Mr. Donald Sherbondy to adjourn the meeting was seconded by
Secretary Ellen Gerber.
