TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA
,CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
is October 17 1984 Regular Meeting 10:05 A.M.
Chairman Robert Scholz called the Regular Meeting to order at 10:05 A.M.
Dither members present were Messers. Donald Sherbondy, John Chironna,
Robert Myers, Alfred Novak, Theodore Boepple, Andrew Bennardo (Alt. ##1)
and Edward J. Pearlstein (Alt. ##2). Also present were Town Attorney
Tom Sliney, Building Inspector Tony Abbate, Recording Secretary Anne
Kowals and a few Town residents.
Secretary Ellen Gerber was absent.
Recording Secretary Anne Kowals read the minutes of the September 19,
1984, Regular Meeting. A MOTION by Mr. Novak, seconded by Mr. Boepple,
to accept and approve both sets of minutes as read was carried
unanimously.
Chairman Scholz advised Town Attorney Tom Sliney that the Code Enforce-
ment Board Members completed their review of data concerning seawall
inspections in the Town. After discussing the matter at length with
Attorney Sliney, the Board Members agreed to submit the following sug-
gestions to the Town Commission:
1. We do not believe it is necessary to set up an inspec-
tion code. This does not alter our present inspection
of new construction or repairs.
2. All cases that came up before, have been handled satis-
factorily by the Code Enforcement Board with Tony Abbate.
3. If in the future an owner refused to repair a seawall,
then it might be advisable to have a code similar to the
Boca Raton Code (Section 7-21.6 Paragraph C).
OLD BUSINESS:
All Board Members acknowledged receipt of copies of letters, dated
September 24, 1984, sent by Chairman Scholz, regarding citations is-
sued to Braemer Isle Townhouses (##2243), James Raisin (#$2244) and
A. J. Bonar (##2245) .
A copy of letter from Mr. A. J. Bonar, dated October 5, 1984, to the
Building Official Bruce Sutherland was received by each Board Member.
Mr. Bonar advised that he will arrive in Town on November 2, 1984, at
• which time he will arrange to have the bolts removed.

In view of the above, Chairman Scholz and the Board Members agreed to
hold this matter in abeyance until November 2, 1984, and allow Mr. Bonar
until November 9, 1984, to comply. An ORDER was issued, per Chairman
Scholz' instructions, stating that if bolts are not cut off by that date,
a fine will be levied by the Code Enforcement Board. All Board Members
were in agreement.
Once again, the members discussed the Marketing Department relocated at
Coronado. Attorney Tom Sliney advised the Board Members that the Town
Commission is aware and monitoring the situation closely.
The next date for the Code Enforcement Board meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday, November 28, 1984. The Workshop Meeting will be held at
9:30 A.M.; the Regular Meeting at 10:00 A.M.
There being no further business, a MOTION was made by Mr. Boepple,
seconded by Mr. Novak, to adjourn the Regular Meeting. All members
agreed.
