VCODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
Regular Meeting April 20, 1983
The Regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Roehner at
10:00 A.M. Those in attendance were: Soll Roehner, Chairman; Ellen
Gerber, Secretary; Robert Scholz, John Chironna, Robert Myers and
Alfred Novak. Mr. Albert Approbato and Mr. Donald Sherbondy were
absent.
Also present were: Tom Sliney, Town Attorney; Elaine W. Roberts,
Town Manager; Tony Abbate, Code Inspector; and Rita Ebersole, Deputy
Town Clerk.
A MOTION was made by Mr. Chironna, seconded by Mrs. Gerber to accept
the minutes of Workshop and Regular meetings of March 9, 1983 and
Special Meeting minutes of March 18, 1983 as read. All voted Aye.
A MOTION was made by Mr. Chironna, seconded by Mrs. Gerber to recommend
to the Town Commission that Mr. Nick Johnson be appointed to fill the
Alternate #2 vacancy. All voted in favor.
• Unfinished Business:
Mrs. Roberts advised that Rainbow Signs (citation #02203) had been
issued their permit and paid the double fee penalty.
Regarding Third Wind (citation #02198) Mrs. Roberts said we are still
waiting to hear a final decision from the Department of Natural
Resources. Much discussion ensued with Mr. Sliney advising the Board
that there is concurrent jurisdiction between the State and the
Municipality but the State has primary jurisdiction. He felt it was
not appropriate for the Town to interfere when DNR is handling a
situation, but to continue to coordinate.
New Business
Mrs. Roberts advised that Plumbing Experts (Citation #02209) re Seagate,
were issued a permit and paid the double fee penalty. Case resolved.
Mr. Abbate said he had distributed notices in August 1982 to all the
condominium managers' offices advising that permits are necessary
for all work done in the Town. Mrs. Roberts said in order to get a
permit in Town a Company must be (1) licensed in Palm Beach County,
(2) show liability insurance, and (3) show compliance certification,

and get an occupational license/registration in the Town.
Mr. Myers requested that the Mayor be asked to make reference that
permits are necessary, in his next monthly bulletin because there
is a lot of ignorance concerning this matter.
Citation ##02213 - Trafalgar Developers (Coronado) - Illegal wall.
Mr. Zona appeared and was sworn in. He said their
intention was to put a sign on the small wall. The
wall was only there 30 minutes and was taken down.
He has now applied to the CAB for sign approval.
A MOTION was made by Mr. Scholz, seconded by Mrs. Gerber to dismiss
this case. All approved.
In answer to an inquiry, Mr. Abbate said the "Red Tag" is issued
as a Warning and/or Stop Work Order.
The next meeting date was set for May 18, 1983. Mr. Myers informed
the Board he will be out of Town. Mrs. Gerber said if she is elected
to the Commission, she will resign from the Board and if not, she will
be out of Town until May 21st.
MOTION by Mr. Chironna/seconded by Mr. Myers to adjourn. Time 11:05 A.M.
