TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA
CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
Workshop Meeting
March 9, 1983 9.30 A.M.
Chairman Roehner called the Workshop meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.
Those insattendance were: Soll Roehner, Chairman; Ellen Gerber,
Secretary; Robert Scholz, John Chironna, Albert Approbato, Robert
Myers and Donald Sherbondy. Mr. Novak was absent.
Also present were: Elaine W. Roberts, Town Manager; Tony Abbate,
Code Enforcement Inspector; and Rita Ebersole, Deputy Town Clerk.
Chief Jones entered the meeting at 9:45 A.M.
Mrs. Gerber read the minutes of the Workshop meeting of January 19, 1983.
Chairman Roehner read a letter from Mr. William Paul to Mayor Horton
submitting his resignation from the Code Enforcement Board because of
his intention to run for the office of Commissioner of the Town. He
also read a letter from the Town Commission to Mr. Paul accepting his
resignation. Mr. Roehner and the Board members expressed regrets at
loosing a valued member but wished him success.
Much discussion ensued concerning the fire alarm and the working hours
at the Coronado. Mrs. Roberts felt something should be done to stop
the fire alarm from going off at all hours disturbing the nearby
residents.
Chief Jones said his officer is stationed at the Coronado early in the
morning. The men often arrive early but are observed drinking coffee
and not starting work until 8 a.m. Sunday a worker was watering trees
but the officer did not feel this was a violation of working hours.
The Workshop meeting adjourned at 10:15 A.M. at which time the Regular
meeting commenced.
