1983.01.19_CEB_Minutes_RegularTOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD • January 19, 1983 Regular Meeting _ 10:00 A.M. Chairman Soll Roehner called the Regular Meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. Those in attendance were: Chairman Soll Roehner, Robert Scholz, John Chironna, Ellen Gerber, Albert Approbato, Robert Myers, William E. Paul and Alfred Novak. Mr. Sherbondy was absent. Also in attendance were Elaine W. Roberts, Town Manager; Thomas Sliney, Town Attorney; Tony Abbate, Code Enforcement Officer; and Rita Ebersole Deputy Town Clerk. Mrs. Gerber read the minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 15, 1982. MOTION was made by Mr. Scholz, seconded by Mrs. Gerber to accept the Workshop and Regular Minutes of December 15, 1982 as read. All agreed. Mrs. Roberts advised that under Old Business, the widening in front of Villa Magna will start tomorrow. A discussion ensued concerning the drain off problems on AlA, in answer to an inquiry by Mrs. Gerber. Mrs. Roberts also advised that the Massengill-Moore closing did not • materialize. They have until June 1983 to complete the interiors of the buildings and still owe the Town $5,000. NEW BUSINESS #02198 - James G. McKay - Third Wind, 4217 S. Ocean Blvd. Mr. Mike Lang, who is now managing the Third Wind and intends to purchase as of April 30, 1983 appeared and was sworn in. He said it will remain a Motel but perhaps in the future it will be demolished and replaced by 5 units or be converted into a condominium. Since Mr. McKay was out of town, Mr. Lang decided to appear as the prospective owner. Mr. Lang was informed that they are in violation of the Town Code by not applying for a permit and are also in violation of the Department of Natural Resources for not applying for permission. MOTION was made by Mr. Scholz, seconded by Mrs. Gerber that the Board postpone any action until we hear from Mr. Taylor of the Department of Natural Resources. All agreed. Mr. Mike Lang gave his address - 9734 Richmond Circle, Boca Raton, 33434, 40 and requested to be notified. • is Code Enforcement Board Regular Meeting January 19, 1983 Page 2 of 2 #02199 & 02220 - Thomas Delaney, Vice President - Evanton Bay and 13raemer Isle - Expiration of Temporary C.O. - exhausted all extensions. Mr. Delaney appeared and was sworn in. He advised the Board that he had called for C.A.B. inspection and should get permanent C.O.'s for both projects shortly. The Community Appearance Board will meet on January 27, 1983. MOTION was made by Mr. Scholz, seconded by Mr. Paul that until we get the facts from the Community Appearance Board, action be deferred for the February meeting. All voted in favor. The next meeting date was set for February 9, 1983. MOTION by Mrs. Gerber, seconded by Mr. Chironna to adjourn. Time 11:00 A.M.
