MINUTES OF TOWN COMMISSION MEETING
WORKSHOP MEETING
Tuesday. February 25, 2003 1'30 P M
Mayor Thomas J. Reid called the Workshop Meeting to order in Commission Chambers
at 1:30 P.M.
Town Clerk Doris Trinley called the roll. The Mayor, Vice Mayor Michael W. Hill, and
Commissioners John J. Sorrelli, Robert L. Lowe, and Rachael Scala-Pistone were
present.
Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney and Town Manager Ben Saag were also present, as
were members of the general public.
After roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance was given.
Before addressing the Agenda, for the record Mayor Reid announced that he would not
tolerate uncivil behavior of any kind at Commission meetings; anyone behaving in less
• than a polite and well-mannered fashion would be ejected from the proceedings.
1. ADDITIONS. DELETIONS OR ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA
Hearing no objection, Mayor Reid declared the Agenda accepted as presented.
2. PUBLIC COMMENTS AND REQUESTS
Joseph Yucht, Boca Hi, had a number of requests:
1) A change in the code of ordinances pertaining the order of meeting agendas to allow
for public input just before adjournment.
2) A forum for TV debate on Town issues by municipal candidates.
3) That a date for the Hoffmann/Siemens Public Hearing be set at this meeting.
4) Regarding construction in the rear of Town Hall, that parking problems for the public
be alleviated.
Jean Ellis, 4205 S. Ocean Blvd., requested that the "lights out" requirement as outlined
. in Ordinance 554 be clarified.

2) DISCUSSION RE: NEW LIBRARY -CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL
SERVICES WITH CORRALES GROUP
Town Manager Saag advised that there would be some amendments to the architectural
contract previously presented to the members. These would be ready for review in time
for the March 4, 2003 Regular Meeting, at which time architect Peter Corrales would be
present to any questions.
7. MISCELLANEOUS -ITEMS LEFT OVER
The following sets of Minutes were forwarded to the March 4 Regular Meeting for further
consideration and possible approval:
JANUARY 28, 2003 EXECUTIVE SESSION (POLICE NEGOTIATIONS)
JANUARY 28, 2003 WORKSHOP MEETING
FEBRUARY 1, 2003 SPECIAL MEETING (REFERENDUM ITEMS #2 & #3)
• FEBRUARY 1, 2003 REGULAR MEETING
8. REPORTS -TOWN COMMISSION
Commissioner Rachael Scala-Pistone requested that a clarification of the referendum
item (funding limitation) be put on Government Channel 19; she expressed concern that
in her opinion it was not clear if the item referred to a single project or a combination of
projects.
Commissioner Robert L. Lowe had no report.
Commissioner John J. Sorrelli had no report.
Vice Mayor Michael W. Hill was of the opinion that the funding limitation referendum
item, as published in the upcoming issue of the Town newsletter, would be quite clear
to the voting public.
Mayor Thomas J. Reid reminded those present, and the viewing public, of the first
performance -free of charge - by the newly formed Lyric Chamber Orchestra, would be
held at St Lucy's Parish Hall on March 21 at 4:30 PM.
