1984.04.18_PB_Minutes_SpecialPage -i- MINUTES: PLANNING COMMISSION/LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY, TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA. FIELD TRIP TO HOLIDAY INN. APRIL 18, 1984. •Members of the Planning Commission/Local Planning Agency met on Wednes- day, April 18, 1984, at 9:30 a.m.. The meeting was called to consider the application submitted by Ocean Properties Ltd., Highland Beach, Florida for construction of 225 Ft. dock on Intracoastal Waterway with davits and for construction of seawall on the East side of SR AlA. Present: E. L. Snyder, Chairman, I. S. Saunders, W. J. Wernecke, R. F. Blosser, D. R. Rome and M. A. Waldman. It was determined at the outset that permits may have been applied for (U. S. Army Engineers - Palm Beach County Engineers) but have not been issued to the best of the knowledge of Commission members, at this time. After viewing dock area, marked off to two hundred twenty five (225) ft. by flags, it appears that some dredging would be necessary and careful thought given to the desirability of a commercial dock being constructed between private residences on each side. It is also known that previous applications have been rejected. In consideration of the seawall location it is possible that this pro- ject may be outside the jurisdiction of the Planning Commission, inasmuch as it would be impossible to build a seawall fifty (50) feet west of the • vegetation line as required in the Code. Board of Adjustment variance procedure could be needed. In a brief get-together discussion the above points were mentioned by members of the Planning Commission, but, of course no attempt was made to arrive at any decisions. Further thought will likely be given at the next meeting of the Pla ing Commission scheduled for May 9, 1984. /Yq % 114A_,e A, APPROVED: Eugene L. tny/iT Chairman W. J. Wernecke, Secretary R. F.
