WORKSHOP MEETING. • Chairman G. P. Weiss called the meeting to order advising this was a Work- shop Meeting called to review the preliminary copy of the proposed Compre- hensive Plan for the Town of Highland Beach, Florida. The recording secretary called the roll. The agenda is attached. Present: Mr. Claude Nastri, Mr. E. L. Snyder, Mr. W. J. Wernecke, Mr. I. S. Saunders, Dr. G. C. Linn, Dr. G. P. Weiss. Mr. Saunders spoke of residential area designation and the use of aerial photographs of Highland Beach. Mr. Saunders recommended that Gee & Jenson examine areas available in the Town for Possible park development. Mr. Snyder noted that the decrease in building activity has resulted in a reduction of income for the Town. Mr. Wernecke noted the development of a Public Park would present problems in policing the area, maintenance of the grounds, additional personnel and parking facilities. Dr. Linn noted that most single family residents have recreational facil- ities available. Mr. Nastri spoke of the comparative growth of Highland Beach as shown on page 14 of the proposed Comprehensive Plan and the • capacity of the water supply for the Town. Dr. Weiss questioned the reference under "HOUSING ELEMENT", POLICIES, #2 - "Support, when and if appropriate regional programs for a variety of housing including group home and foster care facilities." Town Manager E. W. Roberts advised this reference must be included in the Comprehensive Plan according to Florida State Statutes. Chairman Weiss called for a five minute recess at 10:55 a.m. The Workshop meeting resumed at 10:55 a.m. Ronald R. Hoggard, Jr., representing Gee & Jenson, reviewed density units per acre as indicated on map. Chairman Weiss reviewed future Land Use Map and Density Units per Acre as indicated on map. The north end of Town will remain the same. Lots 1 through 17 East will be MFLM, Lots 1 through 13 West will be MFM, including 2A North and 2A South. ADJOURNMENT At the conclusion of the review of proposed changes, Chairman Weiss advised the Planning Commission has scheduled the following meetings: THURSDAY, 9:30 A.M.
