Chairman Boscove called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m., advising this was a Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission. The recording secretary called the roll. The agenda is Attachment "A". Present: J. A. Boscove, N. M. Johnson, Adele Allen, J. M. Farrin, R. B. Myers, 0. Edlund, Alternate. MINUTES Minutes of the following Meetings and Public Hearings were presented for approval: February 27, 1978 March 6, 1978 March 13, 1978 March 20, 1978 Following discussion, motion was made by Adm. Farrin to accept the minutes as amended, seconded by Mr. Johnson. Mr. Boscove, Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Allen, Adm. Farrin and Mr. Myers voted aye. The minutes were accepted as amended. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The following changes in the Proposed Zoning Ordinance Revisions, recom- mended by the Planning Commission, were inadvertently omitted from the • Third Draft, dated March 20, 1978. PAGE SECTION CHANGE 4b 4.3(e)(11) Maximum Building Width: 110 feet. The maximum building width may be increased to 140 feet provided that the side yard setback is increased in an amount equal to four times the increase in building width above 110 feet. This additional setback may be applied on either side of the building. 10 5.2(a)(3) to read "fences, walls or hedges" 11 5.3(c) to read "Swimming pools without pool decks may be permitted within 10 feet from edge of pool to rear or side lot line. These will only be approved in canals eighty feet (80') or more in width, of approved type, and only where they will not create a hazardous interference with navigation, endanger life or property or deny the public reason- able visual access to public waterways. Prior to such approval, written notice must be given by certified mail, by the petitioner, to owners of property abutt- ing the canal and located within one thousand feet (1000') of the property in question. 11 5.3(e) Delete "specially", insert "specifically", line 11. 12 5.8(a) "(a) Intent" - Inadvertently included in 3rd Draft of Proposed Zoning Revisions. Comprehensive Plan does not allow for density transfer. The following additional recommendations for changes in the Proposed Zoning Ordinance were made by the members of the Planning Commission. Blanken- ship in connection with the vacancy on the Planning Commission. Mr. Carberry withdrew his application for appointment and the members of the Commission, following a discussion with Mr. Blankenship regarding the duties and re- sponsibilities of a Planning Commission member, agreed to recommend that the Town Commission consider the appointment of Mr. Blankenship to the Planning Commission. Mr. David O'Dunne, resident, spoke on notification of abutters in connection with application for dolphin pole permits on waterfront properties. Mr. Weidersum, in audience, spoke on setbacks for multiple family desig- nated districts and presented a sample plan to illustrate the subject. The matter will be referred to the Town Commission for consideration. ADJOURNMENT Motion made by Admiral Farrin to adjourn, seconded by Mrs. Allen, all aye votes.
