Chairman Boscove called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., advising this was a Public Hearing called for the continued consideration of the final draft of the proposed Zoning recommendation for the Town of Highland Beach, for transmittal to the Town Commission in accordance with F lorida State Statutes. The agenda is Attachment "A". The recording secretary called the roll. Present: J. A. Boscove, N. M. Johnson, A. Allen, R. B. Myers, J. M. Farrin, O. Edlund (Alternate). Chairman Boscove advised that copies of the draft of the proposed Zoning Ordinance, available for examination, were not modified as the final copy will be. The Town Commission will read the final proposed Zoning Ordinance at a Public Hearing at a future date. Recommendations for revisions were made, as follows: Page Section Recommended change 13 Sec.5.9(a) General. Line four, delete "length", insert "width", Line five, delete "width", insert "length". • (b) Landscaping and Screening - Para. two, line one, delete "137", insert "124", line two, delete "zoned RML". Insert "Lots 106 through 124 be allowed additional parking subject to special exception by the Town and Lots 125 through 137 remain RS single family". 14 Sec.5.9(c) Construction Requirements - Para. four, line two, delete "four (4) ", insert "five (5) ". 17 Sec.5.11(a) Lot, defined - Insert period after "street" line six, para. one. Delete from "and" through "of". 18 Sec.5.12(a) Yard defined. Para. one, line four, delete "thirty (30) " and insert "thirty-six (36) ". Insert period following "upward.", line five. Delete from "except" through "that". Change "fences", to "Fences", line six. 19 Sec.5.12(d) Yard, rear. Delete "required" and "yards", line one. Insert "lot lines" following • "side". 21 Sec.5.13 Parking, Storage -- Para two, line two, delete "within a required front yard", insert "in any twenty-four (24) hour period during loading and unloading". Intent - Line twenty-three delete from "three" through "fronts", insert "72 feet above mean sea level." Building Permit applications.Following "lesser.", insert "Maximum eight (8) feet above mean sea level." 28 Sec.6.8(b) Line two, delete "fifty", delete "replace- ment cost". At the conclusion of the examination of revisions, during the general dis- cussion with questions presented by the public in audience, the use of dolphins at waterfront property; the construction of oceanfront,seawalls; • nonconforming uses of land; existing hotels and motels; replacement and assessed value of nonconforming structures if destroyed more than 70% of assessed value at time of destruction; parking regulations; setbacks; and ownership in fee simple, were considered. Chairman Boscove declared the Public Hearing to be recessed at 10:05 p.m. The Public Hearing is to be resumed on Monday, March 13, 1978, at 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Beach Town Hall. APPROVED: .
