• MINUTES OF TOWN COMMISSION MEETING
SPECIAL WORKSHOP W/BUILDING AD HOC COMMITTEE
Tuesday, May 25, 2004 10:00 A.M.
Mayor Thomas J. Reid called the Special Workshop to order in Commission Chambers
at 10:00 A.M., stating its purpose was as follows:
Review of Building Ad Hoc Committee's Recommendations
Those present were the Mayor, Vice Mayor Asselta, and Commissioners Robert L.
Lowe, Rachael Scala-Pistone and Miriam S. Zwick.
Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney and Town Manager Ben Saag were also present, as
were Building Ad Hoc members Neil Burd, Planning Board Chairman; Jeff Norman,
developer; and Mona Texiera, Braemar Isle Condominium Manager.
Town Manager Ben Saag gave background information on the reasons for the
establishment of the Committee, advising that Chapter 6 of the Town Code (Buildings
and Structures) had not been reviewed in recent years.
Main points discussed included the philosoph of whether or not the recommendations
Y
were resident friendly; if permitting fees should be calculated on overhead and profit
regarding retail or replacement value of the work, rather than construction value (now
in place); and placement of off-site "Open House" signs.
A copy of all information provided for this Workshop is attached to and made part of
these Minutes.
Concluding discussion, it was the consensus that the discussion be continued at the
June 29 Workshop.
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, Mayor Reid
adjourned the Special Workshop at 12:05 P.M. upon MOTION by COMMISSIONER
SCALA-PISTONE/COMMISSIONER LOWE.
